Jimena's Story

We are raising this campaign to help my goddaughter Jimenita and her mother to get a car for people with special needs.

The recent diagnosis of Inflammatory Plantar Ringworm makes it difficult for her to walk longer distances than 200 meters, in addition, the sun triggers her epileptic seizures and this makes it difficult to take her to school and her multiple medical appointments.

We are looking for donations to be able to buy her the stroller she needs and during her growth,

Jimena's story

Starts with myoclonic seizures a year and 7 months or so. Diagnosed at the National Children's Hospital in Costa Rica, where she has controls in: neurology, psychiatry, psychology, nutrition, ophthalmology, optometry, dentistry and dermatology. As time passes, the seizures begin to be more frequent and of different types.

The medication stops working for a while, they begin to try other medications and there are no results (only for a couple of months) and then she is Diagnosed with refractory epilepsy, currently there are no more medications to try, seizures are not under control.

Because of that, behavioral problems begin, global development delay, mental disability, ADHD.

Four years ago, she began with urinary incontinence at night. In December 2022 he starts with incontinence also during the day, she currently wears diapers.

Inflammatory plantar ringworm has been one of the problems for which it hurts a lot to walk long distances (greater than 200 meters). In addition to instability or lack of balance, which causing her to fall very frequently.

Her capabilities deteriorates, have fewer abilities, among those mentioned above (incontinence and walking problems).
