We started up this initiative in response to the high rate of offences against the women and children in this area.

It was obvious to us that a pro-active intervention was necessary to reduce the violent nature of, as well as the frequency of offences being committed.

Most interventions are squarely focused on the victims as a reactive stance and although this is necessary, we felt that more could be achieved through coming alongside the boys and equipping them with social skills, conflict resolution options and other life skills to instill a healthier masculinity and foster positive self-esteem and confidence.

We feel that by instilling hope and by equipping these boys with healthier coping strategies, educating and providing healthy outlets such as sport and other activities as solutions to frustration, anxiety and aggression we would be able to positively impact the community as a whole.”
