Uganda 2014 Trip

Why I am fundraising: To help fund my trip to Uganda in August 2014, with TEAMS (The East African Missionary Society) Charity.   The purpose of the trip: To volunteer and to raise awareness about TEAMS and what they do in Gulu. To meet the children in the Agape child support programme, and find out about them - their hopes and dreams. See how they have been helped by child sponsorship, how the programme is developing and see how I can effectively help by fundraising in the UK. Help practically with work that needs to be done; painting, cooking, making blackboards, organising children & youth fun days, etc To help launch a playground build project.   How the money will be used: 10% of the money raised will go to the Agape Child Support Fund - to support the buying of educational resources, paying school fees, purchasing uniform and providing soap for hygiene.  Remaining money will pay for my flight, accommodation, insurance and transport.   The reason I’m going to Uganda: I went last year in September 2013, after hearing a group of volunteers speak about their experience. I wanted to do something to help TEAMS in anyway I could. Once out there in Gulu, the plight of the Agape Child Support programme touched my heart. I was moved with compassion to do more to support this project. To see the orphan children TEAMS support, given the opportunity to live their dream and having a future of hope, promise and love. Through the means of education /vocational training, the building of relationship and community, these children will a least have the foundational support needed to start their life journeys.   I hope you can help me to achieve this.
