Campaign Story
We are helping the forgotten survivors of Super Typhoon Manghut (known as Ompong in the Phililpines) in the villages of Itogon, Benguet, who have lost loved ones and/or homes due to landslides and flooding on Sept 15th.
The Global Disaster Alert said Manghut was the equivalent of a Category 5 storm, crashing into the Phillipines at 285 km/h and sustained winds of 205 km/h, significantly stronger than Hurricane Florence.
Especially in the hilled areas of the Benguet province, many inhabitants have lost their livelihood, not knowing if, where or when they can have a home again . Families are still now displaced and homeless, found refuge in different locations, temporary accommodation, siblings separated.
With personal witness accounts, the above picture shows families before the storm and some of the countless homes that were washed away within hours of Manghut hitting.
Your donation will help provide relief to children and families, in the hope they can find accommodation together again, find some land nearby and start re-building.
We will personally follow up with every single donation and provide communication of how it has helped, who it went to, provide pictures.
Our hope is that every little helps, it will go a very long way in the efforts to help provide to the families in Itogon, Benguet.
Where will 100% of the funds go?
Funds will provide direct aid in order of urgency: For clothes, food to families in the community and subsequently contribute to the rebuilding of their homes that were destroyed.
The goal amount is: USD 9,250
