URGENT APPEAL.

Super Typhoon Haiyan, was the most powerful storm to ever make landfall. Winds up to 300km per hour, flash flooding and landslides has left millions in the Philippines without food, water and shelter. A lot of these people were still left homeless or recovering from the 7.2 magnitude earthquake only one month before. The UN Humanitarian Affairs estimates that more than 11 million people have been affected. Currently the death toll stands at 1774 which is likely to grow beyond the 10,000 estimated and the economic impact could be up to $14 billion with only $2 billion coming from insurance.

While the storm may be over the risks surely aren’t. During and after flooding, many people are at risk of developing skin and eye infections, respiratory infections, diarrhea, malaria and cholera.

Thai Guardians has volunteers on the ground across 37 provinces to help with medical treatment, first aid, clean up, distributing supplies and search and rescue operations. Charities, appeals, organisations, government bodies and volunteers are all working together day and night to assist the affected population and we need your help as well.
