Two worlds learning from each other

I am launching this campaign for my dear friend with high ambitions:

Greetings my name is Olwethu Sobantwana, a young South African born, raised and educated in the beautiful borders of Africa.

I am here asking for assistance from the world as I would like to travel to Switzerland to research the education system that is used there and how their curriculum is constructed. With the knowledge I recieve there I can come back home and develop a summit which will then talk about the possibility of developing our curriculum in the continent to better our situation and hopefully help us towards our independence one day. I appreciate any assistance that I can get as this is would be a dream come true and you would be helping a country.

The South African curriculum involves a number of stakeholders from the government, schools, learners and the community as a whole, with one dependant on the other to succeed. However, the lack of knowledge surrounding the current curriculum has led it not being as beneficial to the student as it is intended. It is of interest for a summit to be held to better the understanding of the current curriculum and to clearly understand what can be done to improve it or if the educators need to be trained better so that our education system develops the country. I believe that visiting other countries with a system that is similar to ours and learning how those countries implement and structure it to benefit their country and development themselves I stand a chance to better my countries system through the summit I will then start after my time in Switzerland.

The aim of this visit to Switzerland

• To learn more about their curriculum and how it is structured and taught.
• To get young people involved in curriculum development
• Talk to swiss people involved in education
• To visit a swiss classroom.
• To understand how important it is for a curriculum to develop the country and help the people grow.
• To understand how the curriculum can help develop a youth competent enough to gain profit from the recourses of this country and continent
• To empower young people

With poverty still destroying my people I want to understand how those in universities can be taught so that we can try to decrease and eliminate poverty through an education system and curriculum that benefits us.

Mein Name ist Olwethu Sobantwana, eine junge Südafrikanerin, aufgewachsen und ausgebildet im wunderschönen Südafrika.

Ich möchte euch hier um Hilfe bitten, weil ich in die Schweiz reisen möchte, um das Schweizer Bildungssystem kennen zu lernen. Mit dem Wissen, das ich in der Schweiz sammle, möchte ich zurück in Südafrika eine Konferenz planen, wo ich gemeinsam mit anderen jungen Südafrikanerinnen und Südafrikaner darüber diskutieren möchte, was wir für Möglichkeiten haben, das afrikanisches Bildungssystem und somit die Gesamtsituation zu verbessern- was uns hoffentlich immer näher zu einer grösseren Unabhängigkeit führt.
Jeder Beitrag, den ich erhalten kann, ist eine grosse Hilfe- eine Hilfe, die vielleicht einen Kontinent verändert und einen Wunsch wahr werden lassen könnte.

Der südafrikanische Lehrplan beinhaltet eine Reihe von Akteuren aus Regierung, Schulen, Lernende und der Gemeinschaft als Ganzes, wobei eine grosse Abhängigkeit besteht. Doch der Mangel an Wissen rund um das aktuelle Bildungsystem und den Lehrplan führen dazu, dass diese nicht so vorteilhaft für die Lernende sind, wie es beabsichtigt ist.

Ich glaube, dass wir davon profitieren können, andere Länder mit einem ähnlichen System zu besuchen, um zu erkennen, wie diese Länder ihr Bildungssystem formen, um den grösstmöglichen Profit für ihre Nation zu erzielen.

Aus diesem Grund möchte ich ein Gipfeltreffen organisieren, um das Verständnis der aktuellen Lehrpläne zu fördern und vertiefen, um zu wissen, was getan werden kann, um es zu verbessern und Erzieher besser zu Schulen.

Die Ziele meines Besuches in der Schweiz:

• Mehr über das Schweizer Bildungssystem, Strukturen und den Unterrichtsstil erfahren
• Junge Menschen dazu ermutigen, sich mit dem Bildungssystem und dem Lehrpan auseinanderzusetzen und mitzuhelfen, das System in Südafrika zu verbessern
• Austausch mit Schweizer, die im Bildungssystem tätig sind
• Unterricht in einer Schweizer Schule direkt erfahren
• Das Verständnis fördern, welch wichtige Rolle der Lehrplan/das Bildungssystem in der Entwicklung eines Landes und der Menschen spielen
• Junge Menschen zu ermutigen

Während Arm die Menschen in Afrika immer noch zerstört mochte ich verstehen lernen, wie Studenten an Universitäten geschult werden können, so dass wie versuchen können, Armut durch ein nachhaltiges Bildungssystem und gute Lehrpläne zu verringern.
