Hello Animal Lovers!

First, we have decided to extend this campaign by one week to allow more time for donations.

Second, we're adding 3 CATS to this campaign as they are either in, or have had, URGENT CARE at the main veterinarian Tails of Turkey uses in Istanbul.

One of our volunteers often goes to Yedikule Shelter in order to assist with cat care, but oftentimes there are cats in really bad shape and the shelter does not have the funds to provide intensive care.

We are hoping to raise $400 for Cleo, Mimmi & Leon as quickly as possible to cover costs of vet care and boarding.

There's more info on each cat below, and if you can help with a donation of any size we truly appreciate it!

LEON - This very sweet male cat was in very bad shape when we took him out. He had a urinary problem so could not pee, which caused an infection, while also recovering from eye surgery. Leon was treated and has been at the vet clinic for 3 weeks now as Therese (founder of Tails of Turkey) tries to find a foster or forever home. He is blind in one eye, but not disabled.

CLEO - Poor Cleo had her front leg broken in several places. A week and a half ago, she was treated for the breaks and spent time recovering at the vet. Cleo is now bouncing back to health at a foster home.

MIMMI - Mimmi is about 3 years old and very affectionate. Our volunteer noticed she was extremely skinny and had a leg injury. The vet has done a closed reduction procedure on her heel and foot fracture. She'll stay at the vet for a few days until a foster home is found.

Urgently seeking sponsors for Valentine & Señorita!

They are two dogs - mother and daughter - that Tails of Turkey has been taking care of for several months.

Their rescue story began last February, when I received a message from a tourist - a wonderful person named Camilla - who had discovered the dogs living in horrible conditions in one of Istanbul’s crumbling, abandoned buildings.

A small team pulled together to help Camilla coordinate a full rescue operation, which also involved Turkish authorities who picked up the mother, Valentine, to spay her.

From there, to ensure Val did not wind up lost in a shelter, the group of us worked REALLY hard to keep these dogs together, properly taken care of, and out of a very vulnerable situation.

Two of Valentine’s puppies found homes almost immediately.

During the summer, one went to Canada and one to Sweden.

But Valentine and and little Señorita are still waiting at a pension.

This costs 1000 Turkish Lira for the dogs per month. That’s approximately USD $172/month.

Besides the cost of keeping them safe and off the street, somewhere along the line Señorita contracted distemper during the summer. Thanks to medication and multiple visits to the vet, she is doing better day by day.

CAN YOU HELP US CONTINUE SENORITA’s TREATMENTS?

We are URGENTLY needing support to fund pension costs and vet care and EVERY DOLLAR HELPS!

Funds raised through this campaign will go towards:

  • Vet Care in Istanbul
  • Medications & Vaccinations
  • Pension care and training
  • Food
  • Preparations for travel to forever homes
  • Transportation
  • NO Admin fees besides Stripe / PayPal / bank fees on transfers to partners involved.

WILL YOU SUPPORT AND SPONSOR VALENTINE & SENORITA WITH A DONATION TODAY?

EVERY DOLLAR HELPS!

Please share this campaign as we’re also looking for forever homes for both dogs. We do adoptions abroad!

They are extremely social and friendly dogs.

Anyone interested in adopting these lovely souls can fill out our application form @ https://tailsofturkey.org/adopt-foster/

We know they’re going to make fantastic companions for whomever adopts them ♥️

Whatever you can give today will keep them healthy and in good hands until a permanent home is offered.

THANK YOU DEAR DONORS!The Tails of Turkey Team hugely appreciate your generous contributions. More importantly, Senorita and Valentine, are receiving the care and treatments they need. As you know, little Senorita got distemper a few months ago 😥 The infection is gone now, but it left permanent damage on her. . . . .
