$80,000.. What could you do with $80,000? What if $80,000 stood between you, and your dream? Well, that’s what it’s doing for me.
I was raised by a single mother (or at least should have been). My father was around but it was probably better off that he wasn’t as he was a raging alcoholic and caused more harm than good. From a very young age I watched my mother work very hard for very little. I always had what I needed but as I grew up I realized how little income was coming in the house.
She always encouraged me to college so I could create the best future for myself. Although education is important, I now struggle with the fact that I have student loan debt more than some people’s mortgages. How will I pay this? Will I ever be able to start my business? What type of assistance can be provided for somebody who works very hard and makes just a bit more than the maximum levels for any type of government assistance?
$80,000 is what I’ve spent to obtain my Associates Degree in Business Administration, Bachelor’s Degree of Marketing Management and my Master’s degree of Business Leadership. I have never received a scholarship, nor have I received any pell grant. This is due to me making minimum wage and my mother working – we made just enough to disqualify me from any type of government assistance other than student loans. College was and is very important to me because I am the first person in my family to go to college and graduate. I take pride in being able to share my story with others and setting examples for other people in similar situations that may not have the drive/motivation/support that I can provide.
College was supposed to be a stepping stone for me to help me become an entrepreneur. I am very creative and have a passion for animals. I want to create a business in which I would be able to help both animals and the public. The one thing learned in college is that in order to be an entrepreneur you need to be creative and have a solid funding source. Although I am creative, I lack the funding source due to my student loans.
Two Tails Barkery is a business concept that I created from the ground up. Although I don’t have any clients yet I do have market research, cost analyses, customizable product line, but no way to fund it. Two Tails Barkery will specialize in all natural dog treats that are customizable to any diet. The treats are preservative free and contain only human grade food and free of any artificial things (including dye). Two Tails Barkery will also participate in local volunteer opportunities to educate people, and provide opportunities to less fortunate animals. Two Tails Barkery would eventually like provide therapy dog’s assistance in order to provide a service to the elderly, the sick, and anybody that may be in need of a pick me up as well as teach shelters how to take better pictures of adoptable animals to provide maximum adoptability to any pets without a home. Until I can get my student loans paid off, I have no income to do so. At this point – Two Tails Barkery may not be able to hit the market until 2044 at the earliest.
As you can see, the generation that is graduating from college RIGHT NOW can make a huge impact on our country. Not only do we have the drive and motivation do to so, our intentions are in the right place as well. By donating to my GoGetFunding Page you are not only helping me helps the country better itself, you are providing hope to other 20-30 something who want to do the same. The only way to build something better is to start at the foundation, start with our future leaders, and start with me. Please consider paying to forward, I can assure you I will do the same.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
