Two Kids, A Mother Gone

Our lives were changed by an incredibly tragic event that occurred on April 13, 2013. Brandi Nicole Fields was murdered by several gun shot wounds in a vehicle and leaves behind two children, Jahniyah and Jeremiah. Since then, life has been challenging in general – with me searching for employment and other financial resources to care for my two grandchildren. Mother’s Day, birthdays, and holiday seasons were devastating. But, we can confidently say that our feelings of loss are shared afar, despite whether or not you knew her personally.

We would like to share with you just a little about who Brandi was. Brandi was a fashion enthusiast, as she loved to make her own jewelry bracelets. Her personality was vibrant, magnetic, and had a zest for life. She always had a glow from within that always showed on the outside and made others want to be near her. She was a daughter, a sister, a "Missy", a granddaughter, a niece, and a best friend. But most of all, she loved and comforted her children to the fullest on a daily basis. Jeremiah is playful and energetic; Jahniah poses as glamour girl. All these features are small parts of Brandi. Their interaction with Brandi was filled with surprise and curiosity. When you see them, you will see her in them like we do.

We feel strongly that she is looking down on us, seeing what has been done in honor of her for her two children, and is nothing short of astonished.
