My name is Cameron Atterson, and I am 24 years old.

As some of you may know, my dad (Campbell Atterson) passed away suddenly in 2012, and in his memory I am participating in the Two Ball Rally alongside my uncle Gordon and two friends.

The Two Ball Rally begins in July/August and we will travel through Europe in a car costing no more than £500. The car will be driven from Glasgow to Barcelona over 4 days, and will cover over 1300 miles. We will help raise awareness of two charities; Mary's meals and Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres.

I have decided to take part in this because in 2009 my dad took part in the Bangers and Trash Rally, raising over £7,500 in memory of my auntie Norah towards breast cancer. He travelled, with my uncle Gordon, Phil Pashley, and Anthony Holly, from Calais to Almeria in a bright pink Volvo named 'Cuddles'.

Not only am I doing this to raise money and awareness of these two important charities, but also to make my dad proud.

After all, I'm proud of him.

Here's a link to my dad's old race blog which documents their journey -

And recently discovered, another of his blogs -

The Tartan Rockets have acquired a Rocket!

Update posted by Cameron Atterson at 07:52 pm

This is the V2 Rocket! Because the V1 we originally secured, wouldn't launch... Something to do with the intercontinental ballistic missile not working or something.

  • Uncle Campbell was a great man who raised amazing kids. I'll forever be grateful to have had him in my life. His children are a credit to his memory & I'm proud to call them family
