I am Amin Muhammad , 24,
from the long besieged Gaza strip.
I was barely 7
when the Israeli military forces
bombed our home,
killing our father in 2003,
leaving us without a father
to fend for us & homeless. Now a family of 9,
with our sick diabetic mother
with blood pressure & nerve troubles,
3 sisters, & 4 younger brothers,
I find it hard to make ends meet.
I had to drop out
after my first year of university
due to lack of funds.
Life without a father is very difficult,
more so also because of the responsibilities
that come with it.
The costs of living each day stare us in the face. Securing sustenance each day
is a challenge for us Gazans. The most dangerous enemy to mankind
is the feeling of need, poverty, & hunger.
The outside world cannot grasp
the full despair & difficulty
that have been forced upon us
because no one lives the life
we live here in Gaza.
I try desperately looking for work,
to be able to help out my family.
We in Gaza have nothing.
Travel, education, life -
everything is costly nightmares for us.
The situation becomes more & more difficult by day.
& no one to help.
We are seeking your humanity, your mercy,...
