My name is MARIA TWITCHELL SALVADOR - TAMPUS, 35 years old. I am writing my story in the hopes of gathering financial support to help me go through and fight the big, bad C.

I am a registered nurse and worked in Saudi. I recently went back to the Philippines to give birth to my son, Nate Ezequiel in February 2020. My husband had to leave us for work overseas when my son was only 2 days old.

July 2020, my weight drastically dropped. At first I thought it was just one of those postpartum side effects. I suddenly felt a huge lump on my upper-right stomach. I often was feeling light-headed and extreme fatigue. The lump in my stomach seems to be getting bigger and bigger. I had to go through endoscopy and colonoscopy in hopes of determining the cause of this lump. But unfortunately, the result was inconclusive. I decided to go to another doctor for a 3rd opinion hoping that this time, the result will give me peace of mind. I came in and had a needle biopsy to determine if these lumps are just TB or if it is lymphoma. But since the most prominent lump is so small, the sample was not enough and the result is yet again, inconclusive. A laparoscopic biopsy is really needed at this point but financial issues hinders me to go through with it. I am no longer able to take care of my son as I am constantly tired and in pain. Sleeping is also a difficult task as I get sudden chills and fever at night.

August 2020, my hemoglobin level was low. I had to undergo blood transfusion and needed 3 bags of A+ blood. And I though that was the last time I had to go through that ordeal.

Fast forward to January, my hemoglobin went down again, this time to 47. Normal range is at least 99-110. For the 2nd time, and I needed another round of blood transfusion. After the blood transfusion, I was able to undergo laparoscopic biopsy with the help of all the donors who sent me financial help. But as much as I was hoping for a positive result, the worst news was given to me. I am officially diagnosed with STAGE 4 LYMPHOMA. This "unknown" illness that has brought me so much pain and suffering for the past 6 months is now determined.

And now, I am knocking on your kind hearts again for help to finance my CHEMOTHERAPY TREATMENTS and the tests I need to undergo prior to my treatments. I know that a lot of you have already extended their help for my biopsy and I will be forever grateful.

There is no donation too big or too small - any amount will go a long way. Thank you for your time and may God bless you a thousand fold!

Hemoglobin is low again.

Update posted by Maria Twitchell Salvador at 01:30 am

My hemoglobin level went back down again and I need to undergo blood transfusion before I can do the laparoscopic biopsy. This means additional cost. :(
