About us
Twenty20 Community Cricket Ltd was launched in 2013.  The company is limited by guarantee and non-profit making and was set up so that we as a company can deliver cricket in more challenging environments.

Some of these projects are detailed below.  We very much hope you will want to be part of these exciting propositions.  We believe there is something for everyone to be involved in.

Our Projects

Africa
In January 2014 we are sending 8 coaches out to Sierra Leone to deliver cricket coaching to 15 schools and teacher training to over 100 school teachers.

The trip is being organised with our partners Kent Cricket Club in Sierra Leone for whom we set up a website in 2013 and with whom we have been working for nearly 2 years.

As well as cricket we will be delivering AIDS and pregnancy awareness and the plan is to return every year to create a legacy in the country.  We are also planning to take out around 15 sets of Kwik Cricket equipment to leave with the schools.

The cost of each annual trip is in the region of £15,000 which we need to raise by the end of October 2013 to make the first one happen.  We would welcome any donations who can help us towards this target.

Deaf Cricket
For the past 2 years we have been working with the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) and England Cricket Association for the Deaf (ECAD) to try to get regular coaching for Deaf young people and to create a Surrey Deaf County Cricket Squad.

The latter has now been created and will start in the summer of 2013 and we have now run 2 indoor youth Deaf coaching events and this summer will see our first outdoor ones at Woking & Horsell Cricket Club who have become Surrey’s nominated Deaf cricket club for the county.

Running these events will cost in the region of £2,500 over the next 12 months and we welcome donations to help us reach our target of over 25 Deaf young people receiving regular coaching by the start of the summer of 2014.

UK Local Community
Over the past 6 years we have coached cricket in over 250 state schools across the UK.  As the recession has deepened this has become increasingly challenging due to parents having less and less disposable income and rising petrol costs for coaches.

Despite these challenges we continue to reach more schools each year but donations or sponsorship would help us reach many more schools and many more pupils as we will be able to continue to push costs as low as possible.

Our sessions are aimed at creating an appreciation of cricket and hopefully resulting in the young people going on to join their local cricket club.

Depending on area, coaching costs approximately £15 per pupil per term.  We welcome any donations to help us reach more state school pupils.

We are also looking to set up Community Cricket Centres across the UK.

Since Sky Sports has had a monopoly on cricket in the country, as much as the extra income in the game has been welcome at grassroots level, many fewer households now have access to cricket on TV.  This has left many young people with no reference points when learning the game.

Our Community Cricket Centres will show all the big games and have cricket coaches on site to deliver cricket lessons to those who want to take an active part in the game.  Centres will be based at cricket clubs and open all day in the summer months for unemployed people, senior citizens and, after school and in the holidays, for juniors.

The cost of running each centre will be in the region of £12,000 per year and we are looking for partners and donors to help make this a reality.
