Tutors Online Platform

Hi, my name is Jason and I am starting an Online Tutoring Service here in South Africa.

I got the idea when our schools were closed down due to the Covid -19 Pandemic and I was looking for other safe alternatives and ideas for my children's educational needs.
I found out that the department of education supports home schooling in our country, they also supply all the necessary tools to do so but unfortunately, we as parents don't always have the time and resources to do homeschooling and sending students to school is currently a very high risk especially with infection rates climbing and spreading.

My aim with Tutors Online is to provide a safe but still educational platform. Learners will actually spend less time doing school work and more time enjoying time with their families. My wife and I have been using our way of tutoring via the online classroom and found out that our son who is doing Grade 1 tends to learn at a mush faster pace, he is focused, his concentration for simple tasks have improved and he is overall a much happier child, his attention span to the work and online lessons seems to be longer and willingness to participate became more frequent. He demonstrates enthusiasm for each lesson as it is something new and exciting.

We currently using the free versions to start off Tutors Online but we are limited to certain functionality like adding more students into the classroom and having limited space to employ more tutors.

We currently have 10 tutors on standby waiting to assist but we can only use 3 as our resources and equipment are extremely limited.
This is the reason for this GoFundMe page.
We have thought of getting Partners or Sponsors but we really have no idea where to even start, also I would like the reason for this platform to remain and have the purpose it was created and intended for, which is to be a platform for safe learning with certified tutors where they can earn a salary by doing what they love without having the fear of the Pandemic breathing down their necks, to have a company not take the majority of the money being earned for their hard work and ensuring and affordable way of learning.This could possibly determine the way learning will be implemented in the future.

We offer our Tutors a 85% Pay out of all classes they conduct where we take 15% to keep the platform running.(Pay for yearly subscriptions to services we use to make our platform work.)

Our current fees for learners is R 70 - $4 per class 1-on-1 and R 50 - $3 per class group sessions of maximum 4 students.
I currently have a promotion running for Grade R - 3 which is 8 classes per week & 32 classes per month. @ R 1568 -$92 per month.
Grade 4 - 7 which is 12 classes per week & 48 classes per month.@ R 2352 - $138 per month.
What we offer :
1. 25min. session in the virtual classroom
2. Trusted and certified content
3. Certified Tutors
4. 1-on-1 tutoring
5. Safety of their own home
6. They can use either a Laptop(preferable) / Tablet / Smart Phone

Reason for funding:
1. Website : I have created a website myself and don't really want to post it live yet as we can't afford the domain price yet. ( $150 yearly charge.)
2. V-cam split for background removal to have a standard educational background for all tutors.( +/- $40 once off life time own.)
3. Virtual Classroom.( $319 yearly charge.)
4. Booking system .( $199 yearly charge.)

The reason why we can't fund this project ourselves is because I'm currently unemployed. My wife does Online teaching for a U.K. based company but with recent events and the current global situation her work has been unstable where we barely cover rent and food for the month. I have also done my TEFL with the hopes of starting to teach online when the recent events amounted to companies not hiring at the moment, we then decided to create this platform for people who might find themselves in the same situation.

I hope with this platform we can create a safe learning environment for learners in South Africa. and also at the same time create safe job opportunities for Parents within South Africa.
