Hi guys, I am actually trying to raise funds to help me in my ambition in becoming a barrister by finish my Law degree. Unfortunately, I do not qualify for Student Finance like the rest of the people in this country, the main reason being that I hold a discretionary leave to remain in the UK. While the permanent residents and all other types of residents qualify for student finance, recently in the year 2011 they abolished student finance under The Education Act 2011 for the group of people who hold discretionary leave to remain in the UK. While being oblivious to this in the past years, it only came as an outrage when I decided to apply for university and was informed with the news that I will not be receiving student finance. Although first year I managed to milk all my savings and worked alongside my degree to support myself financially, however the finance which I require for second year is nowhere near achievable by the time I start my second year. I am currently working to save for all my living expenses while at university. I am a 20 year old enthusiastic and creative individual with a passion for being the best in my prospective field. Having initially been inspired by my own situation to work in the Legal industry has been the biggest motivation for me to pursue my career in being a barrister. I know that this is a considerable amount of money that I am trying to raise, which is why every little help from any generous patron would be greatly appreciated. You never know, you could be sponsoring the next Michael Mansfield. Thank you very much for even considering helping me in my journey.
