Tuition fee (desperate)

Over the past months, my family's financial situation has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. My father, who was the sole breadwinner, faced unemployment since March 2022 due to the restrictions and economic downturn caused by the pandemic. This sudden loss of income has created immense financial strain on our family.

Furthermore, during the course of the pandemic, my mother's health took a turn for the worse. She developed severe asthma, and her medical condition deteriorated rapidly, leaving her disabled. As a result, my father has had to allocate a significant portion of our savings to support my mother's medical treatments and daily care. This unforeseen situation has further depleted our financial resources and made it impossible for us to meet the outstanding fees.

To compound our challenges, we have also had to undergo bank loan, mortgage, and credit facilities restructuring since February 2023 to alleviate the financial burden caused by the pandemic. This restructuring process has impacted our ability to access additional funds or secure loans for the purpose of paying the outstanding fees. I hope this provides a clear picture of the circumstances my family and I are currently facing. The combination of unemployment, the need for medical care for my disabled mother, and the financial restructuring measures have left us in a position where we are unable to meet the financial obligations for my education.

I am genuinely committed to my academic pursuits and value the education I have received at the University of Sydney. However, given my current financial predicament, I'm asking for assistance from the public for the first time because my family has already racked up a significant debt. To continue my studies and be permitted to enrol in the following semester in 2024 while my family and I make plans for the subsequent semester's tuition and board, I must pay the outstanding sum as of right now; otherwise, I will be expelled. I am currently at a loss as to what to do other than appeal to kind-hearted people to save my family. I will be extremely grateful for this much-needed assistance as my family overcomes its current financial hardship. Thank you!
