Tuition Assistance for Special Needs School

Hi my name is Robin. I am a single mother of a bright 9 year old boy. I work in Technical Support and am in school for my Bachelors. I have worked hard everyday to give my son the best resources I can to make a change in this world as he grows. From the time my son was born, he has delt with Severe Asthma and multiple food allergies. I am proud that he is such a strong young man.

While in his current school, I began to notice that he could not keep up with other children in his class. I at first thought it was because he was just not trying, or did not care. Yet the more I tried to help him, I noticed a problem. Certain words, or problems just did not make sense to him. He received free tutoring in his school, but it just kept him in the grade, not really going beyond. After having him take a few educational test, it was found that all of his frustration with his school work was due to an educational development issue. He just can not learn in a regular school environment in order to do the best be can.

Through the testing and his report from his school transcripts, he was able to get into a private school that works with special needs children. I am so very thankful to have found this school, as well as for him being accepted. We were also fortunate enough to receive a $28,000 scholarship from the school. My goal is to come up with $10,000 more. I work a full-time job as well as attend College 6-9 credits per semester. I am unable to afford the $10,000 bill. I have looked and continue to look into other scholarships, but those are few and far between.

I see this as being a chance for my son. Being a single mother who delivered at 19, it has not always been easy. I am very thankful for everything in my life that has lead us to this point, and beyond.

Even if I only receive a portion of this it will help me towards our goal. If I can not receive the entire amount, then I will see if I can get a second job, to pay down the bill monthly. If that does not work, due to my schedule, then unfortunately my son will be unable to attend the school.

I look forward to my son making a change in the world. He is always building planes, and pully systems, it is amazing. I know that with the right resources he will do something special.

I am thankful for any help that my son and I can receive.
