Trying to get by with a little help from my friends

Dear friends,

I hope this note finds you, your family, friends and colleagues healthy and well in all respects.

As some of you will know, I have been living in Asia and working part-time on environment and rural development-related jobs for the past 30 years.

Two years ago, I suffered a serious back injury which has prevented me from working ever since (more specifically, unable to walk more than 50 steps at a time).In an effort to avoid surgery, I tried various alternative therapies at considerable expense, unfortunately, to no avail.

I need to have an angioplasty and stent implant in one coronary artery and then spinal fusion surgery.(The spine surgery cannot proceed unless the heart procedure is done first.) After having been disabled for two years and dependent on savings to cover expenses, I don’t have enough money to pay for either of these treatments.And because of the age limit on my health insurance policy, my insurance was terminated last year. Unfortunately, I do not qualify for social security since I am ten quarters short of the required US work time/ social security contributions.

Theoretically, since I continue to regularly receive job offers, these health restoration treatments will enable me to get back to work.

The cost of both treatments including pre-surgical diagnostics and 3 months of post-back surgery rehabilitation is $50,000.

I would like to request your kindness in making a contribution, such as you may be able to do, to the cost of my medical treatments. It would be a real life saver for me. If you are in a position to make a contribution, it’d be great if you could do so by end March 2020, since it will be best if I can have my health issues taken care of in the not too distant future so that I can get back to work.

Contributions can be sent through my Go Get Funding account. Once I have enough money to do so, I’d schedule the treatments immediately.
