I'M RUNNING 2 TOUGH MUDDERS AND I WANT TO BUY A 4 TON TRUCK

Between now and September I'm doing 2 Tough Mudders to raise money for a truly great cause.

Malawi is an incredible country. It's known as 'The Warm Heart of Africa' because of it's beauty and the peace in which its people live.

It's also one of the top 10 poorest nations on Earth. Many of its villages are based around no more than 7 or 8 extended families and they all look out for and take care of each other. It's the only way they can survive.

I know a man who lives in just such a village. I met him 5 years ago when, ironically, I was helping a friend make a film for a charity.

Davis is bright and ambitious and intelligent.

He's 28, is an eldest son and wants to change the course of his life, that of his family and  everyone else who lives in his village. He's a good man and I consider him a friend. He just needs a break. When I met him he had left home to find work and had found it in a backpackers bar 5 hours from home. He was paid $11 a month and at night he slept on the floor behind the bar.

A charity has paid for him to take his driving test but there's no way he can afford a motor vehicle of any kind. So, here's the plan...

£4000 will buy a 4-ton truck and will pay for the initial fuel and maintenance to get him started.
The next stage is for him to hire himself and his truck out for construction and transportation.

The longer term plan is for him to save the money needed to buy himself and his village a taxi.

The even longer term plan is to save the money needed to start an internet cafe.

The ultimate plan is to change the course of his village's future, pay for the kids to go to school, pay for healthcare and create jobs.
