The story started when my parents came up with the idea to move to Germany in order to live a peacefull and quiet life in a small village just north of Leipzig.

They managed to buy a house which required a lot of maintenance. As time went by and the house got renovated they noticed Germany wasn't quite what they expected. So they decided to move again, this time to a more southern region of europe. They also decided to rent a house instead of buying one. This made them come up with the idea to put their current house in Germany up for rent.
This is were all went south, despite getting professional help finding renters and setting up a contract.
The renters seemed to be 'mietnomade' ( you can look that up on google and see for yourself).
At first the renter refused to pay the rent, this went on for months, causing all sort of problems like seizure of incoming of my parents by the bank cause they were unable to pay the mortgage due to this. My parents turning to the local police didn't seem to have any effect on the situation as renters are in a strong position in Germany and can't be forced out just like that. So my parents had to file a lawsuit, you can imagine this procedure takes months.
In the meantime my parents were forced to travel back to Germany and put the renters out themselfs ( eventually with help of the local police), just to find out that the place turned into a complete junkyard and that the gas, water and electricity bills had not been paid for.
All this trouble caused them to stay even longer and clean up and arrange things for the lawsuit. After turning to several financial agencies they found out they shouldn't expect any help.
As of now nearly 1,5 years since all this started they are risking to lose their currently rented house + they are unable to travel back home due to the lack of financial resources.
to sum up the costs:
cleaning/ waste disposal; €950 ( includes lots of chemical waste)
unpaid bills by renters: € 1.650
Lawyer: € 4.500
Subsistence: €750 ( mostly caused by transport costs and having to stay elsewhere due to the fact that the house was temporarily uninhabitable).
To get back to my reason for starting this dream.
I'm having to watch all of this happen from a long distance, unable to support financialy and only a minor bit mentaly.
Seeying them become despirate and in fear of losing their own home and possibly being unable to leave the place at all. Them being angry and totally wasted at the same time as this story has been going on for so long, it's not just mentaly but also physically exhausting.
With this idea of starting a dream I'm trying to support my parents even if it's just a little bit, so they can continue the fight and eventually return home safely.
Hoping for your support,
Tim
