Campaign Story
A business training simulation modeled after MonsoonSim but a better, less buggy , open and free version. While MonsoonSim has been adequate for most students, I've noticed a few of its drawbacks.
- It's buggy. As in, it's a mess! I remember once when I was gaming with my class, the connection to the MonsoonSim's server slowed down (connection to other parts of Internet is fine) for the entire class except for the professor (whom have a separate internet connection). The professor paused the game for 30 minutes until we are sure the server's connection was OK. In the duration of the pause, the game's day stopped, but not the entire business operations. Rent expense were being spent, salaries to virtual employees are paid, machines depreciated, products are sold, warehouses were emptied. When the pause ends every team has accumulated a whopping NEGATIVE $1.1 Million Net Profit at least. This kind of bug for something we paid for makes the money spent not exactly worth it, especially for the platform was so renowned that professional businessmen recognized it.
- It's not user-friendly. A player will sit down for the first time in the game. Game begins and it's almost guaranteed that he will be confused. Why? The first screen is overloaded with Information, without clear buttons to interact with the game, instead the entire website uses links for buttons. The reason for this is that the game is founded and made using the old technologies, not allowing them to use the newer and more modern facilities of HTML5 that made web fast and easy.
- It's not open enough. MonsoonSim may have been recognized by many business experts as a good learning experiential learning platform, the game is available only to organization who afforded it. The platform itself if ever became open to everyone. Individuals, students, employees and every
