On September 19th, 2013, our Girl Scout Troop discussed the plan for earning both Silver and Bronze Awards.  As a group they decided on the following,

Group 1

Is working on a selling rainbow loom braclets for an animal shelter, collecting pet food for food pantries and invovling the community through media relations.

Group 2

Is working to provide essentials to the homeless throughout the Chicagoland Area. They have set a goal of meeting with community businesses and organizations to set up drop off boxes for collecting toiletries for the homeless.

In order to make all this happen these girls need a budget for supplies.  Currently our Troop, parents and leaders are supplementing any cost to help them along.  I'm also reaching out to local businesses for donations, however, we are still short on supplies.

Group 1 Needs

Donations to buy pet food for food pantries, misc items for homeless pets at the Niles Animal Shelter recently struck by a bus.

Group 2 Needs

Funds to purchase fliers to get the community invovled, collection boxes and much more. Funds will also be used to purchase toiletries and baggies.

Along with all these goals some of our parents and girls are currently on financial aid and although we supplement a large portion of fees associated with being a Girl Scout we are limited on funds to help them achieve their projects.

So we estimate that with a min of an $800 dollars we can help both groups achieve their goals. Any little bit helps! Thank you in advance for supporting our Troop.
