I'll be doing a "Titanium Triathlon 2.0" again this year.

Physically, I've had a few setbacks lately and I have therefore gone back and forth regarding what challenge to give myself, that will not do me harm.

One thing that I've never doubted though, was that I would do some form of challenge.

Yet, naturally - one questions whether there will be support.

Who knows, but I absolutely have to give it a go - all we can do is try.

I will follow the same format - which of course means an ever so slightly longer distance as I will be turning 32.

= 3.2 km swim + 32 mile cycle + 32 km run on the 22nd of January 2022.

So - I'm going to have a full day of action - it will inevitably hurt and it will be difficult, but I intend to enjoy it - to be thankful for the ability to move, and hope with all my heart to raise awareness for the CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA and the PDSA, George, as well as funds.

All funds raised will once again be divided between the two charities (GoGetFunding takes a small percentage but I still feel it's the best platform and option.) There will be full transparency again.

No amount is too small and every bit helps!!!

❤❤❤

Thanks friends.

Original Titanium Triathlon (2021) details below.

---------------

I will be doing a triathlon for my 31st birthday: a 3.1km swim, a 31-mile cycle, followed by a 31km run. This will be a challenge for me, I'm no athlete.

I decided to do this in celebration of the fact that I made it this far, I had Hodgkins lymphoma (cancer) at 15 and was diagnosed with a life-threatening form of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (blood disorder) at 18. I've had many rounds of chemo, radiation, various operations and am fortunate to have conquered my illnesses.

I came out of it worse for wear in that I was overweight and unhealthy (but still smiling and positive). Through exercise, I have turned my life around and the lessons it has taught me, and the strength it has given me (far beyond physical strength), is something I feel passionate about sharing.

I will therefore share bits of my journey on the day of the triathlon, and I hope to raise funds for the two foundations that are dear to me:

CHOC - the childhood cancer foundation that assists children with both cancer and life-threatening blood disorders, as well as the PDSA (people's dispensary for sick animals), which treats and cares for sick/ injured animals whose owners cannot afford the cost of private veterinarians.

In any way you are able, please consider giving a donation to these very worthy organizations.

Ps. because of the treatments used to cure my cancer and blood disorder, I developed Avascular Necrosis in my shoulders and had to have a shoulder replacement. I now have a titanium humeral head - thus the name Titanium triathlon. I will be doing it alone and therefore won't be uploading too much on the day, but will take some videos/ pics to share on my Facebook and Instagram pages for those who might like to follow along on the 22nd January 2021.

Through this platform, whatever is raised, will be divided in two and given to the two organizations. Thank you for your support!
