Trekking to Everest Base Camp to fund Church Project

About the project and me
I am doing this special project to honour my late warrior father Eric Bremley Lyngdoh who taught me as a boy from the Bible Acts 20:35 - "It is more blessed to give than to receive" - This is my guiding principle as long as my heart is still beating and keeping me alive to complete my mission on this planet! 

So I am embarking on this church restoration and expansion project to fulfil his vision for the people of Marker village. The members of this church will be hosting the Presbytery for about 3000 people in March 2015 but since my father passed away 20 months ago it is now my responsibility to complete this church project for him before the Presbytery next year. 

I completed the first phase of this crowd funding campaign with a skydive on 3rd August 2013. I felt closer to my father when I was up there in the sky and as I was falling back to earth through the clouds at 150 mph I thanked him for his unconditional love and guidance.

I completed the second phase of this crowd funding campaign after the skydive was done by hosting a benefit concert that was held on Friday the 20th of September at The Don on Tower Bridge Road in London. Stephanie Short performed live and everyone come dress in their 1920s outfit. 

I completed the third phase of this crowd funding campaign after participating in the Great South Run on 27th October 2013 in Portsmouth with 25,000 other runners from many countries and finishing the race in 1:13:57.

And now that I am finally home in Shillong, I ran the first Shora Marathon on 17th July 2014 and will run the 2nd one on 18th December 2014 . In between I am trekking up to Gorak Shep village in the 2nd week of November for 3 weeks which is the base to visit the Everest Base Camp at 5,380m/17,650ft and I will climb up a hill called Kala Patthar at 5,643m/18,513ft in order to get the clear view of Mt. Everest.

So I am inviting you to support my mission by raising funds together in order to support a church building project in Mawker village in Ri Bhoi District.

We are going to complete this mission in partnership with all the 537 members of the church living in Mawker village.

What are we crowdfunding for?
Using crowd funding will help raise the funds needed to purchase all the building materials and also pay for the labour cost in order to complete the full restoration and expansion of this old church.

Why are we crowd funding? 
Using this crowd funding platform will help engage all my friends from every corner of the planet who know me and care about this mission. This platform will give them a chance to build this church together with me from across the miles through their blessings and contributions.

What will the money be used for?
The money will be used to expand the church building by 30 feet X 20 feet from the back side with an office downstairs. The roof will be extended and a bamboo ceiling will be put in place. A pulpit and more church phews will be constructed using hardwood. The money will be used to purchase all the building materials needed for the restoration and expansion of this old church building including bricks, sand, stone, cement, roofing materials, steel rods, wood, bamboo, glass, lightings, interiors, labour cost, etc.

By when will the rewards be dispatched?
The rewards will be dispatched to all the contributors on 23rd December 2014 just before Christmas!
