My name is Justyna, I'm a Master degree student, and recently I was lucky enough to get a scholarship to participate in Game Developers Conference in San Fransisco. However, the costs of travel & accommodation are on me, and unfortunately, being a student and having no income, I can't afford that.
For many years I've been truly passionate about video games and how they can impact our lives and understanding of the world in a positive way. During the years I really focused on trying to link most my projects (including a Master thesis) to video games, with the goal of eventually getting into the gaming industry. I never even dreamed of being able to go to GDC, and now it seems like once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to me, where I can learn so much about game creation from professionals.
Needless to say this trip is really really important, and missing it because of travel costs seems like a wasted opportunity, especially having received and all-access pass which enables me to participate in all sorts of interesting workshops, and lectures.
I really want to bring better games to world, not just "mindless shooters" and "pointless violence", and if there's any good point to learn about those meaningful games, it's GDC. Even though it sounds so cheezy, please help me out to be able to get there!
