Campaign Story
Please help me go to a conference about taking care of the environment and fighting climate change.
I am Pariphat
and I am passionate about the environment and concerned about climate change. I study geography and it has made me realize how important it is to act now for our planet and our survival. I enjoy working with young people and I would like to help them become more aware of climate change.
Conference
In May, 2022, I will participate in a scientific conference about the Earth and the environment, called the European Geosciences Union (EGU) https://www.egu22.eu. It is the biggest conference about the Earth in Europe, with more than 16,000 scientists!
Action
My proposals have been accepted. They are about climate education and about good ways to treat our mother Earth. I will do one presentation with my colleagues from Barbados, Brazil, France, Italy and Iran. See the links to my presentations below:

From before
I have participated in the conference before – it was a wonderful experience, let me share it with you here https://blogs.egu.eu/geolog/2018/09/12/a-young-participants-experience-at-the-2018-general-assembly-so-much-to-discover/

Learning & career
Going to the conference and meeting scientists working in the environment and climate change will teach me more about taking care of the Earth and about fighting climate change. Going to the conference will also will help me with my studies and be more successful in my career.
Cost
My expenses will probably be as follows:
- Conference fees (already paid): 130 euros
- Travel, round-trip from my house to Vienna: 300 euros
- Accommodation, 6 nights, 50 euros per night: 300 euros
- Other expenses, 6 days, 25 euros per day: 150 euros
- Total = 880 euros
Report
I appreciate all kinds of support, big or small. I will think of you during the conference. I will do a short report after the conference, so please leave your email if you would like a copy of the report.

Thank you
Thank you so much for your help, Pariphat
Ukraine
I have already donated to the Red Cross for Ukraine. If the pot of money here goes above the goal, I will donate the extra amount to some scientists in Ukraine to help them go to the conference. | ![]() |
