Battle Against Stage 3 Bladder Cancer

Dear Sir/Madam,

I need about $16,000 to pay for follow-up chemo and radiotherapy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. My sister is currently evicting me from her apartment in Florida after caring for me for nearly six months. She is now unhappy with my presence.

To leave Florida, I require 1-way airplane tickets from Miami, FL to Bangkok, Thailand. After arriving in Bangkok, I need to get on an AirAsia flight to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I will then be required to purchase a new 6-month reentry business visa upon arrival in Phnom Penh. All of this will cost about $1,100. This will allow about $15,000 for cancer-related medical treatment.

My wife and 3-year old son live in Phnom Penh. I have been gone for almost 6 months.

I have been in the USA getting medical treatment at the VA Medical Centers in NYC and West Palm Beach since mid-July 2017.

The last checkup is scheduled for January 23, 2018. To date, I have had a fist-size tumor surgically removed from my bladder via two back-to-back surgeries and tubes placed to drain my kidneys, although one kidney is only 5-10% functional. I have also undergone nearly seven weeks of radiotherapy on my bladder. There is another hard boiled egg size mass inside the bladder that will be evaluated further in late January 2018. I may require bladder removal.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am a Vietnam era veteran and the VA Medical Centers have been excellent. My social security income of $1500/month is insufficient to cover these continuing medical costs, given my fixed monthly expenses in Cambodia.

Living in Cambodia is inexpensive, and my social security income covers my normal monthly expenses. The new medical costs will be a significant burden.
