Transportation Needed

Greetings,

My name is Thomas Ford, and I am a 55 year old man, who has recently had a double transplant (kidney and Pancreas). I thank God every day for a second chance on life. With this second chance I plan to come off of social security disability and become a productive tax paying member of society. Being on a fixed income, for seven years, have made it quite difficult to establish and maintain any savings. I am thankful for the support of social security. Currently, I am attending School to get a bachelor degree for Web Development in San Francisco. However, in my younger days, I attended community college. So I have reached the max in unites to receive financial aid. The Social Security retraining program believes in me enough to cover my school expanses, and has recently found that it would be impossible with my current health to be on public transportation with supplies in hand coming from San Jose. So the employment specialist said, if I am able to raise the funds for a down payment for a used and reliable vehicle, they would help with the payments.

I feel this is an awesome opportunity because I tried using public transportation and was robbed twice. Some of my prerequisites are in the evening hours, so carrying equipment on public Transportation going to the city is not safe for me.

By helping me, I will be able to finish my degree, get back in the workforce and pay it forward to someone who may feel that a person at my age should just stay at home.
