Transplant for Jhoanne

Hi! I am Jhoanne, 29 years old, single, from Dumaguete City, Philippines.

I remember vividly, it was December 5, 2017 my life had a sudden shift - I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5 or End Stage. Back then I was a 24-year-old dreamer taking up MS Statistics at UP-Diliman while working as a Statistical Specialist II in the morning at the Philippine Statistics Authority - Central Office. My doctor said that I was a walking time bomb, I might have a cardiac arrest at anytime. And that I needed to start my hemodialysis as soon as possible.

I felt everything collapse on that day knowing that my life will not be normal as it used to be. I wanted to scream, shout and plead to God but I can't, I don't have the strength both physically and mentally. My potassium-level is soaring high, my calcium low as well as my hemoglobin. My doctor said that I need to have hemodialysis 3 times a week. Consequently, this illness has cost me my job and my studies.

After 4 years of dialysis, my other organs have been deteriorating as well. I now have an enlarged heart and spleen and hypertension. 2 years ago I got rushed to the ER of Silliman University Medical Center (SUMC) after I had a seizure and became unconscious. I stayed in the ICU for days because my heart rate was alarmingly high and my oxygen was low.

I don't know where I get the luck of always being dealt with a bad card. Battling this disease is not easy. All I have is HOPE that soon I will get my life back. My doctors advised that a Kidney Transplant is the best option for me.

Regular dialysis and my medications have left me and my family financially depleted.

And we can't afford a kidney transplant. The estimated cost for my kidney transplant is 30,000 USD (Php.1,740,000) including workups, surgeries, medicines, and confinement.

My tentative schedule for Kidney Transplant is in January 2023 second week, God’s time.

I am hoping and praying that by sharing my story, there are people out there who could possibly give me hope and donate any amount. I really need financial support from God-sent angels like you to reach the required amount for a kidney transplant. You'll never know how your kindness will turn someone else's life around.

I have lived a life full of hardships and pains, but I believe God has helped me in so many ways through all these years.. I hope that one day I can live my life like a normal person again. With God's grace, your PRAYERS, and financial support, I know I can make it through again, as I have made it with the previous years.

Please be an instrument of God to help me receive a miracle.
