Transform a Kid’s Life With a Text Book [Give Them a Chance for a Decent Education]

Hello Everyone,

My name is Henry Jahonga, and I’m the principal of a small school in Matunda, Kenya known as Anointed Community Academy. This is a community primary school that primarily serves poor children from the surrounding village. Most of the children are orphans who come from poor families, and are usually living with their grandparents.

First off, I’d like to thank all the people that have been supporting our previous campaigns in form of monetary donation and kind. It has been a long journey for us but we have steadily seen progress in building our school and helping the children get a decent education.

Our last campaign was quite successful (see it here) and from the funds you donated, we were able to construct a classroom and put up some other necessary building. About 90 percent of the classroom is finished. We are remaining with a few things to get the class fully finished.

It’s been a blessing to teach the kids inside a safe and comfortable place.

We thank everyone that has been reaching to us through email and phone supporting us in one way or another. Every little action you take helps to give some kids somewhere in a poor village in Kenya a chance for a better life.

HELP US BUY TEXTBOOKS

We’re forever grateful for the contributions that you have been making. At this time, we are imploring you to stand with us and help us purchase books for pupils in standard 5 (Elementary Grade 5). Currently, the highest level of education that we are providing is Elementary Grade 4. However, in the coming year, the children that are currently in Grade 4 will have to graduate to Grade 5.

Our school lacks text books that are required to help the children when they are in Grade 5. This is why we humbly request for your assistance in raising funds to purchase books for the coming year. Yes, it’s still a few months to the new year but the earlier we start, the better.

We are looking to raise $5000 to purchase books for Grades 5 up to Grade 8, as well as additional text books for the lower grades. At the moment, only the teachers have text books. During classes, the kids are at a disadvantage because they cannot follow what is being presented since they lack the text books.

Your generous donation will go a long way in helping us to equip the school with adequate textbooks for the children in grades 5 to 8.

The cost of a text book varies from about $4 to about $12. Our teachers will allocate the funds to purchase the books based on which ones are needed the most.
