My story

I got married quite young and a year later my ex husband cheated, so we got divorced and I was only 19 yrs old at the time. I found myself spiralling into deep depression. This was a very dark time in my life and I was diagnosed with Trichotillomania, this OCD disorder is when you pull out your hairs (eyelashes, eyebrows, head hair ETC) and cannot stop yourself from doing so. You dont even know you are doing it until it is too late.

I did not want to go out or see anyone with no eyelashes or eyebrows and this made my depression become worse. Eyebrow pencils didn't look natural and lasted the whole of an hour.

One day I read an article about Microblading/Nano blading/ Semi Permanent Makeup (SMPU), I had previously heard about Eyebrow Tattooing, but to me this didn't seem like it would look natural on myself, as tattooing is a block colour, so up close people would still see I have no hairs, unlike Microblading and Nano blading, as this tattoos hair like strokes and actually looks like hairs and it lasts approx 18 months unless you keep having them topped up every 8 months. I researched into it and decided to have it done. It was very expensive, but it was the best thing I ever did! It literally changed my life, I felt so much more confident and I became sociable again.

About the treatment

I have decided that I would like to start up my own business performing Semi Permanent Makeup on people suffering from Trichotillomania like myself, or Alopecia, or any other hair loss conditions. Once I am qualified in SPMU I can then also perform Areola reconstruction, this is when someone has had something like breast cancer and had to have a mastectomy, I can then tattoo new nipples. As semi permanent makeup is quite a new treatment, everyone is charging such high prices. I would like to become a mobile SPMU technician and charge prices that people can actually afford to pay. When people are going through these hard times, many find themselves not being able to work or have to lower their hours, meaning they cannot afford these extortionate treatment prices and I would love to be able to provide this for them, as I have been in their position and I know how difficult it is to pay for these treatments. Everyone deserves to feel comfortable and confident, without having to spend all their savings to do so.

About the course

The cheapest SPMU course I have found is in Bedfordshire (approx 45 mins from where I live) It is a 5 day course costing £2000 and for this course I would need to also purchase the Machine and Kit, the cheapest costing £1250 + VAT or the more expensive machine and kit costs £3000 + VAT. I would also need to purchase Insurance as I have to carry out 12 treatments (case studies) to gain experience and to get qualifications, this is £205.

I would like to thank you for taking your time to read this and for anyone wishing to donate, I would like to say thankyou and that I will be forever grateful to yourselves.x Also if anyone would like to become a model for my case studies please feel free to message me.x
