RESCUE FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN

In Johannesburg South Africa there are thousands of men, women and children under the slavery of human trafficking. Men, women and children are being exploited to work under hostile conditions without any pay.

According to the Salvation Army 450 000 of the two million people trafficked each year are in Africa. There are an estimated 50 000 child prostitutes in South Africa.

To achieve our rescue mission we will go into those dark places (dens) and rescue women and children who are under labour exploitation and forced commercial sex. We will investigate; we will identify victims and rescue them with support of our partners which includes the Department of Social Development.

Statistics reveal that South Africa could have as many as 100 000 young girls working in underground sex dens as sex slaves. Even rescuing only one child or woman from sex exploitation is a great achievement but we want at least 10 in the next 10 months.

Human Trafficking Task Force (HTTF) is a registered non-profit organization based in Johannesburg South Africa. HTTF was formed in April 2016.

OUR VISION

To liberate those in modern day slavery of human trafficking and abject poverty.

Our Mission

To prevent human trafficking through educating the society.

To liberate victims that is children, women and men in forced labor or sexual exploitation.

To fight poverty by creating opportunities for young women and men who are most likely to become victims of human trafficking.

To help poor families in townships, rural and urban areas launch self-help projects such as horticulture, poultry, sewing, recycling and many others.

To reach politicians, churches and various community groups encouraging them to take drastic action against human trafficking.

Human Trafficking Education

We need to break the root of human trafficking by education.

We will teach people what is human trafficking, indicators of human trafficking and encourage them to take action against this modern day slavery.

We will go into schools, churches and community in Johannesburg to do some workshops or educational meetings. We will also reach out to women in commercial sex to tell them about human trafficking and to encourage any victims to come open and speak about the scourge they have experienced.

If people are educated that will make it difficult for them to be trafficked or to become traffickers. People must become aware of this hidden crime. Therefore literature distribution and conducting educational workshops in churches, schools and community at large is key to Human Trafficking Task Force’s work of eradicating the scourge of human trafficking.

Human Trafficking Task Force in Action

We are also protesting the human trafficking of Zimbabwean women to the Arab country of Kuwait. More than 200 Zimbabwean women have been sent to Kuwait under the disguise of getting better jobs. Some of the women upon arrival in Kuwait they had their passports and cell phones seized by Kuwait government officials and the women were stripped naked and auctioned (while they were naked) to Arab men who used them for sex and sell them continual to men who needed to sleep with them.

On another incident one woman was sold to 10 men a day or was forced to sleep with ten men a day to generate income for the pimp master.

We believe they are many African women including South African women being trafficking to the Arab world. South Africa is the source, transit and destination for human trafficking.

As a Human Trafficking Task Force we condemn such fraud and gross violation of human rights of the women above. We are going to protest to the Kuwait Embassy to highlight the plight of African women still in slavery in Kuwait and other Arab countries.

Material support to victims

Human Trafficking Task Force (HTTF) will help victims of human trafficking and potential victims who are the poor, unemployed men and women in Johannesburg to access free internet and computers. Unemployment, crime and hopelessness are high. Many young people are depressed and turning to crime and many will be victims of human trafficking.

We will help victims with food, clothes, training in short term courses and smart phones in some instance so that they can get to their feet.

We are committed to financial accountability. At the end of the financial year a certified accountant will provide a financial report - we will send this to our financial supporters.

Message from the Director

My name is Collen Makumbirofa, I am the Director of Human Trafficking Force. I have a dedicated team from various backgrounds and we have a vision to eradicate human trafficking in South Africa. I have personal witnessed human trafficking in Johannesburg and Capetown and l have a close relative who became a victim of this slavery.

It’s agonizing that there are many people including young children who are not in control of their lives but they are being used for forced commercial sex and forced labour. Many young lives are being senselessly wasted because there are some people who are greedy and love money to the extent that they can sell other people especially the vulnerable women and children.

Stripping people of organs such as always happening to Albinos and selling them is also a horrifying form of human trafficking.

Human Traffickers must stopped and get arrested. The whole industry of human trafficking must be bankrupted. Places that are being used for selling people must be shut down. I have resolved to dedicate my whole life to eradication of human trafficking in South Africa and anywhere. I am inspired by the following quotes:

''What is necessary for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing.''

''Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, Rescue those being lead to death."

Please you may further assist by forwarding this campaign to your friends or network. If you are in South Africa you may also assist in kind by donating furniture, printers, laptops, smartphones, cameras etc. Any such gesture would be profoundly appreciated.
