Our story starts from being unemployed for a while, looking for job opportunities here and there!
It's truely hard to explain this feeling of having nothing! No job, means no income and thus, not loving the life you live.
So we try hard to change it and make it better for ourselves and our families. The first step (hard to do when you have no support) is to look for jobs anywhere you could imagine.
Last couple of weeks, My friend Youssef and I were called for a job interview (like all those we had before) in Tangier for an upcomming project.
We went there and answer the questions they asked (like any of those) to hear the final famous answer of the employer "We'll get back to you soon" and never heard back!
But wait; I noticed that we spent more on food than we usually do in Rabat, Casablanca or other cities eventhough the food wasn't great, but we had no alternatives.
This is an OPPORTUNITY to bypass those boring job interviews and those annoying train trips between cities and start my own business that will help me and other people; I told myself.
When we came back to Rabat I told my friend about it and started immediately preparing this pitch: there are alot of people having no choices when it comes to food, so a big problem to solve! which means a real money to make!
Traditional and fast will be the first food marketplace in morocco solving this issue in the area of Gzenaya, Tangier.
The team who will run the project is composed of four people.
Mohammed achtouk, our big chief here with more than 12 years experience who will bring all his expertise and his kitchen wisdom to the project.
Said ait aissa our younger chief with 5 years of experience and who is ready to make some delicious dishes for you our future customers
Youssef ait aissa, a young experienced assistant manager who will be in charge of the supplies, and the delivery management
And my self, a young ambitious entrepreneur with many years of experience and a certificate of attendance of the first "start your own business boot camp" with startup maroc and oasis 500.
Now, to show you how important our project is, I just want to imagine yourself living in a location where you can't find the food you like or even find it at a high price compared to other cities, or the worst need to go miles away to find better choices. That's the case of Gzenaya: a relatively large geographical area where few minutes away from the African gateway of Europe "Tangier med" port with hundreds of companies and several housing buildings.
The solution that we are bringing is an innovative food store that will offer more choices at lower price.
If you're around you'll just need a smart phone, PC or any Internet connected device and you'll easily find us online, so you can send us your order after browsing our menu! That's the only thing you'll do, we take care of preparing and delivering your order into the comfort of your place.
The delivery process can be the traditional or the innovated one where any driver going the same road from our place to yours can deliver your goods and earn some money while doing it.
What makes us different from others, in addition to the variety and the better price, is the coverage of far areas, preorder system and the revenue sharing model.
Now let's take a look on the market potential: Tangier's population is estimated to approximately 1 million people: Gzenaya's potential market is more than quarter a million the big majority (63%) of them are young so ideal to be our customers.
We'll be producing, delivering food and sharing the revenue with delivery partners. We propose the values of better food choices at affordable price, ease of order and revenue sharing model.
We'll attract Young active people ( 15+ y.o.) and the workforce of the industrial area
We'll get those using on/offline ads and we'll keep them by offering: quality, loyalty, agility and we'll grow our customer base using Social Media Marketing and Testimonials.
The channels we'll be using are the Store front, the App/website and our Partners base.
The resources we need for this project are human: mobile/web developper, waiters, cashiers.. and materials fund, commercial, kitchen equipments and other resources.
Our revenue will come mainly from three different streams: The revenue from direct sales, ads and premium subsciptions.
The cost structure of our project is made up of fixed costs: like salaries, rent.. and variable cost like the supplies we'll need to produce the goods.
We expect to have 60000 MAD/month as a direct sales income (based on stats from projects in Tangiers) with a little growth during summer and Christmas holidays (As Tangiers is the gateway of the country and receives 5 million Morocaans expats in Europe during the indicated periods)
Regarding the revenue from ads, we expect our app to be downloaded by 100000 people as we'll run a launching campaign to target all the SAM ( 283000 people) and we'll offer a free product to each user who download the app when launching the project.
The overall project income is expected to be -11425 MAD for the first month, but expected to grow to reach +36% in the net income margin during september 2017.
We focus on growth for the next 3 years. in 2017/2018 we plan to target more profitable locations in the city of Tangiers to reach 3 stores in total.
In 2018/2019 we plan to export this experience to other cities in the country and we will install 5 stores ntional wide by september 2019.
