Tracks4life

Tracks for life is a charitable fund which was founded as a result of a growing need to help children in the Manawatu from Mid to lower socioeconomic backgrounds, in the area of individual education. We noticed that children this group have less opportunities for individual academic advancement than other socio groups. In many cases, these children have learning “gaps” where they simply have not grasped a topic early on and that gap has hindered them in both academic learning and confidence to take learning to the next level. Some other children are simply “bored” with school and after initially trying to “fit the box” they give up and drift off. Tracks for life is a program for children struggling at school or gifted children simply needing individual extension, but whose parents are lacking the needed funds to invest in this individual education plan. The very low decile schools already receive grants and funds for such programs from the government. However many kids from the mid to lower bracket fall in between the cracks. Tracks for life is wanting to close those gaps! Tracks for life works with the schools involved to highlight students who simply lack funds to peruse their potential. Confidential communication with the schools Principal and teachers is part for the success of this program. Once a child is highlighted, Tracks for life locates and pays for the student to receive individual tutoring working on specific areas of need in their learning and challenging areas of talent. The learning needs of the child is our priority. In most cases the child is brought to an after school tutoring group called “ Numberworks” whereby they are given the opportunity to grow not only academically but to grow in confidence as they achieve there learning goals. If it’s recommended by the school an individual tutor can be used as well. We are needing donations both monthly and one time to continue the work that we have already begun.
