Catch documentation is a challenge for the fishermen because it is difficult to record, IUU fishing is rampant due to a lack of tools to easily record catch data. TrACE.AI is the first electronic catch documentation in the Philippines. This app uses AI to record the details of fish catch for fishermen, public and private stakeholders, and government to establish a sustainable traceability ecosystem.

Problem

Because there isn’t a catch documentation culture of harvest, there are some problems like the below:

1) Illegal fishing is rampant and market prices are collapsing sometimes

2) Unable to export marine products to other countries such as Europe where traceability is strict

3) Marine resources and the environment of the sea are not protected (e.g. Small fish are caught.)

Our Solution

We are using a web and smartphone application, called TrACE.AI. It gives fishermen a useful and great user experience ever. The app is supported by Artificial Intelligence so that fishermen can record without complexity.

We will show below how The TrACE.AI system gives you a new recording experience. After a half-day of training, you will be able to use it.

How to use the Support Funds

We will give incentives to the fishermen who use our app. We anticipate the cost to operate for 3 months.

In order to help the fisheries community to establish a culture of catch documentation, data must first be collected.

Financial assistance is necessary until the ecosystem is established and stakeholders feel valued. Collecting data by incentivizing fishermen to record their data using our solution. The collected data is useful for buyers. This is because you can buy properly managed fish and know which port you should go to buy the target fish catch. Finally, we can get a data center that gives fishermen and buyers huge value.

By utilizing fishermen and buyers, we will build the traceable ecosystem that we want to create.
