Towards a Healthier Future

Cambodia, a country in South East Asia with a population of 16m, of which 85% reside in rural areas. Maternal and child mortality is disproportionately high in rural areas with 160 women’s deaths and 23 infant deaths per 1,000 live births compared to 0.174 and 5.7 respectively in the United States. Majority of these deaths are preventable if the mothers have access to high quality healthcare information and can make better decisions for themselves and their families.

Lais and I have a mission to improve women's health around the world. We are being supported by Elsevier, Singapore and Angkor University, Cambodia in this goal. In the last 9 months we have trained Angkor University students on maternal and child health issues using evidence-based healthcare content from ClinicalKey Nursing. The students are now ready to create their own healthcare content in Khmer and share it with mothers in rural areas through weekly on-site interactions.

We want to support our student soldiers while they educate mothers in remote and rural areas even during this pandemic. Help us raise funds to provide tablets to these students so that they can make their work easier and engage the mothers more effectively
