Touch Rugby FIT Youth World Cup 2023

I’m Milowo Matebese, but my friends and family call me Milo. I’m a 19 y-old Geological Science student at UKZN, but mostly I LOVE RUGBY!

I can’t really say where it began, but for as long as I can remember, I’ve had an immense passion for sport. *insert sport achievements

Following that I’ve dreamt of, one day, representing my country in the sports that I love and that goal is now within my reach.. but I need YOUR help to make it.

In South Africa, Touch Rugby is unfortunately a self-funded sport. Touch Rugby receives no national subsidies (unlike soccer, rugby, cricket, athletics, and swimming) and sponsorships are almost unheard of. its, travel and accommodation for training camps and tournaments are just some of the costs one has to carry.

Now that I’ve been selected by the South African Touch Association (SATA) to represent South Africa in the Under 20 Men’s Team at the 2023 Touch Rugby World Cup to be held in England in July, these costs have rocketed. With your help, I hope to raise funds that will go towards participating in training camps, sports kit, travel and accommodation in the UK as well as sundry expenses such as strapping, first aid etc.

I’m asking any and every one that comes across this appeal: from friends and family, philanthropists, to Corporates and NGOs – please help me to realise my ambition, and to make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I have been granted.
