When dreams become reality!

Dear friends and supporters!

My last six months have been full of ups and downs. Not long ago, I was without a ticket to the Dakar and it seemed that my dreams would remain only - dreams. All the chances for Dakar 2023 were almost nil, but that didn't stop me from hoping that the turnaround would just happen. Even after my victory in the Hungarian Baja, my appearance at Dakar 2023 seemed some sort of mission impossible. However, I continued to hope and tirelessly checking on all the possibilities to qualify for the Dakar. I was offered the opportunity to participate in the Morocco Rally and I succesfully finished it. Finally I had the ticket for the most difficult race in the world and the proof that dreaming restlessly about it did pay off.

Now there is a new obstacle in front of me and a new "race" to tackle in order to gather the necessary funds. Participating in the Morocco Rally did indeed bring me the opportunity to qualify for the Dakar, but at the same time it cost me a lot of money, which I still haven't fully returned to my racing team. The never-ending rejections from sponsors keep me away from the budget I desperately need to pay the team's expenses and the entry fee for the Dakar. However, I do not intend to give up this time either - I still believe that I will be able to proudly represent my country Slovenia at the upcoming Dakar!

I will be very very happy for any help you can give me, I do really need it.

Ko sanje postanejo resničnost!

Dragi prijatelji in podporniki!

Zadnje pol leta je bilo zame polno preobratov. Še ne dolgo nazaj sem bil brez vstopnice na Dakar in zdelo se je, da bodo moje sanje ostale le – sanje. Moje možnosti za Dakar 2023 so bile skoraj nične, a to me ni odvrnilo od upanja, da se bo preobrat le zgodil. Celo po moji zmagi na madžarski Baji se je zdelo, da bom na nastop na Dakarju 2023 pozabiti. Vendar sem še naprej upal in neumorno preverjal vse možnosti za uvrstitev na Dakarju. Ponudila se mi je možnost nastopa na reliju Maroko, ki sem ga uspešno zaključil, se tako kvalificiral za najtežjo dirko na svetu in s tem dobil potrdilo, da kako zelo vredno je sanjati.

Zdaj je pred menoj nova ovira in nova »dirka« za pridobitev potrebnih sredstev. Udeležba na reliju Maroko mi je resda prinesla možnost uvrstitve na Dakarju, a me je istočasno stala ogromno denarja, ki ga še vedno nisem v celoti povrnil svoji dirkaški ekipi. Zavrnitve sponzorjev, ki se ne končajo, me oddaljujejo od budgeta, ki ga nujno potrebujem za poplačilo stroškov ekipi in plačilo prijavnine na Dakar. Vendar tudi tokrat ne nameravam in ne želim obupati - še vedno verjamem, da mi bo z dvignjeno glavo uspelo zastopati barve Slovenije na prihajajočem Dakarju!
