Tommy Longo Cancer Fund

Tommy was diagnosed with leukemia when he was nine months old. He underwent extensive chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and many painful medical procedures such as bone marrow aspirations throughout his childhood. As his doctors predicted, the intensive  extended therapy he received from a very young age left him mentally disabled. His mother, a registered nurse, cared for Tommy until she was taken from him by cancer.

In April 2011, Tommy was diagnosed with a new cancer, lymphoma, and has been frequently hospitalized under the care of an oncologist since then, again undergoing cancer treatments that have put him in the intensive care unit four times.

Tommy cannot work. He resides with me, a 65 year old widower. Due to his medical expenses and our decreased family income following his mother's death, we are now facing the loss of our home. I worry about Tommy's future.

Despite the many difficulties Tommy has experienced throughout his life, he is a plesant and caring person who maintains a positive outlook.
