Campaign Story
Hi! My name is Janis Grunte who was raised by my foster granny Alma in port city of Liepaja, Latvia. Right after I was born, my biological mother run away leaving me alone in the hospital. After number of years of uncertainty, granny Alma found out about me studying and living in a boarding school, and adopted me. She showed me what it means to have a family that loves you and takes good care.
Now after many years it is time for me to take good care of granny Alma who is now 91 years old. After pondering of how to improve the quality of her years of retirement, I realized that we have one major problem we've been struggling with for years - she is in desperate need for a toilet and a shower designed for disabled folks. She only has a dry toilet outside that she cannot access due to her disability. And I know that with my income as little as 400 euros a month I cannot fulfill that dream. That is why I turn to you for a helping hand to help me bless her the way she was my blessing and hope for years. Our plan is to turn one of the rooms (with many windows) into two separate rooms - one would be toilet and shower, and the other would be a little storage room. That means also replacing walls and a roof.
