Lito Labor, Jr., or Lits is best known for his love for his family, his friends, his colleagues and his dogs, and his passion to help others in any way he can. He always opens his heart to all the people he meets regardless of their socioeconomic status. The most remarkable part of his character is he never gives up on anything. Now, it appears his character is being tested. One week after being rushed to the hospital due to dizziness and evident paleness of skin, -- which all soon have gone worse and were developed to lethargy, fatigue, gum bleeding and difficulty to swallow food -- Lits has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on March 8, 2018. He is advised to undergo a series of chemotherapy and other forms of treatment as soon as possible as this type of leukemia cannot be allowed to stay in a human body for months for it is life-threatening. Undergoing the first round of chemotherapy, means he has to stay in the hospital for a month. His family as of the moment, unfortunately, has just begun settling all the financial issues they have incurred when their mother was hospitalized and became physically incapacitated in 2016, and sadly passed away last year.

When the result of the bone marrow biopsy has been revealed last week, it was hard for him and his family to accept the hard truth. As most of us would feel when faced with a similar situation, we would usually ask, "Of all so many people on earth, why me?" But Lits never questions whatever life or his Creator gives him or allows him to have. I know nothing can bring him down. His strength and will to live relies on his hope that he will be healed so he can live longer and continue caring for others.

Before the result of his bone marrow biopsy was revealed (and later on found out he has leukemia), his hemoglobin and platelets were dropping. The lowest hemoglobin of him being recorded was around 2.5. For the platelets, it went down to 15,000. His physician wondered how possible it was for him to get to the hospital (almost unassisted since his older sister cannot carry him on her own) even though his blood count are very low. I believe this is his second chance in life. I know we can help him fight and defeat leukemia. I trust he will be healed. Let us not give up on Lits as he did not give up caring for people like us. Together we can save him.
