HELP US REBUILD MAR MIKHAEL ACHRAFIEH THE BEATING HEART OF BEIRUT

The 4^th of August catastrophe that hit our beloved Beirut is like nothing we have faced before. It is a disaster on a scale that most nations never have and hopefully never will go through. Till date more than 160 people are dead, over 5000 injured and hundreds still missing. The human and material damage is immense.

As a nation, Lebanon is no stranger to calamities and having to rise from its ashes time and time again. This explosion couldn’t however have come at a worst possible time. Our economy is in distress, our people are going hungry, our public support system has failed and the global Covid-19 pandemic is a burden we are barely able to carry. This time more than ever we will not survive without you, we need your help to rebuild. We need your help to survive.

We are a group of hospitality entrepreneurs in Mar Mikhael Achrafieh and the port area who have spent our life building our dreams around this neighborhood. Even in the midst of all those challenges, we kept faith in our nation. We worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone is welcomed with the Lebanese hospitality. Today, we are on our knees.

Mar Mikhael Achrafieh as some of you may know symbolizes the heart of Beirut, the place where life long memories are built. This beautiful street full of vibrant businesses, shops, restaurants, art galleries and home to thousands of people has been one of the areas worst affected by the 4^th of August explosion. For us, like many other, our own survival is now threatened.

We are determined to rebuild again and rise together with your help.

We have been overwhelmed with the messages received from thousands sharing their love, feelings of despair, messages of hope and offers of help. Your sentiments, the emotions you shared and your love for Beirut and Lebanon are the fuel that is helping us stand up. For that you have and will always have our heartfelt thanks.

We are reaching out to you with this fundraising campaign that is aimed to help hospitality entrepreneurs of Mar Mikhael Achrafieh rebuild and repair more than 80 properties in Beirut as well as to protect our employees’ livelihood in these tough times. It is a campaign that will contribute to reconstructing the Beirut you knew and the Beirut you surely will proudly come to visit again.
