Campaign Story
Our project seeks to bring specialty care to cancer patients in their communities to significantly reduce cost of travel and accommodation to the few cancer centers in Ghana and to enhance effective monitoring to ensure adherence to prescribed oral cancer medicines.
The objectives are to:
1. To deliver home care services to patients who may be unable to visit the pharmacies or centers.
2. Give patients prompt access to cancer medicines (oral anti-cancers) and social services at retail pharmacies that will be based in communities throughout the ten regions of Ghana
3. Enable patients have access to community based oncology Pharmacists, Pharmacy technicians and social workers who will work in collaboration with Oncologists, Nurses, Radiotherapists, Dieticians etc at the cancer centers to continually offer a multidisciplinary approach to community based care.
4. To offer decent work and training of pharmacy staff in specialty care.
Being the first specialty pharmacy in Ghana, the project will seek to extend as far across Africa as reachable.
