Campaign Story
As we all know, welcoming a baby into the world is a wonderful occasion, literally pregnant with possibilities. It is also a time of strain; physical, emotional and financial. I have created this campaign to ask you to help alleviate the financial burden of my friend, Danae Windsor.
Danae, from Gloucestershire, England and her husband, Jason, from North Carolina, USA met on an online roleplaying game. Behind the curtain of the story we wove together in character, they fell in love. They dated long-distance for some time before making the decision and gathering the resources to move Danae to the states in December 2011.
Shortly after, they got married and then got pregnant! However, do to immigration being a lengthy process, Danae was only issued her SSN last month. Upon trying to get on Jason's insurance, her pregnancy was deemed a pre-existing condition, thus raising the cost to an un-payable amount for their budget. When they applied for Medicaid, they were denied because they make too much money.
Upon this writing, Danae's due date is tomorrow. (6/2/2013)
UPDATE: Kaya has been born!
This is a call to action: To our friends, family and those with kindness in their hearts and change to spare. Please help me ensure that my friends are not left in a $20,000 debt pit for bringing their little girl into the world.
