During these trying times, especially during this pandemic, our family was put to test. Last June 24, 2020, Bon was rushed to the hospital at 4:30 am in VRP Hospital in Mandaluyong. He suffered from massive stroke and was admitted to the ICU. The doctor’s diagnosis was Aneurysm, Acute Kidney Failure, Pneumonia, and Electrolyte Imbalance. For three weeks in the ICU, our hospital bill has reached Php 1,000,000.00 We have exerted all our savings and got help from family and friends. We can never thank you enough. On July 18, he was transferred to a regular room.

Currently, our bill has reached Php 1,667,807.34 aside from the partial payment of Php 1.6million last July. This does not include other bills such as doctor’s fees. As of now, we are on a cash-on-delivery basis. Bills are starting to pile and it is a struggle to find funds for his succeeding days. We are asking for your kind and generous hearts. Any amount will do. We know that it is already a challenge to get on each and every day with the current situation all over the world. But we know that God will always find a way for His angels to send reliefs in his own way. We trust in Him.

Let me share you a story of my Uncle Alfredo Ocampo JR. or dearly known as our “Tito Bon". He is the eldest among 6 siblings. For the longest time, since Dada's passing (his dad), he is staying at our home together with his mom and other siblings. He stood to be the Padre de Pamilya. He, not only supports his immediate family, but provides for his nieces and nephews as well when needed even to his apos. I cannot remember a time he said no to us when we need help. In times of trouble, all you will hear is, "sige hanapan natin ng paraan yan" (Okay, let's find a way for that.).

He has stood as one of our father when we were growing up. He is a combination of strictness and entertainment. When he is around, you will find that the atmosphere is lighter with his corny and old school jokes. When he feels like going on an adventure, he will never fail to ask the family or any of us to come. He is a breath of sunshine. We miss him. We miss his smile. We miss his jokes. We miss his simpleng banat.

Now, that he needs us. We will never say no. Just like him, we will find ways and search for all possible help to give to him. It's our time now. Help us help him. God bless you all.
