Tina’s Spine Surgery and Chemo

UPDATE (10/09/2018):

I was admitted at Manila Doctors Hospital for the scheduled spine surgery. After a series of labs, my bone scan showed the cancer has metastasized to my lungs. After a multidisciplinary meeting of my docfors, they decided that the mets has to be dealt first, being more life threatening. On October 9th, I had taken the first of my 6-session chemotherapy. Simultaneously, I will be given Zoledronic Acid to strengthen my bones for each chemo session. My med onco said that each session would cost me Php 70k.I would be then evaluated after the chemotherapy if I would need radiation treatment next. Only after the chemo/radiation treatment will I be able to go under the knife for my spine surgery.

At this point in my fight against BRCA, I would like to thank the good samaritans who responded to my prayers for help. As one good samaritans puts it, "you are not alone and we are listening to you." I can never be more grateful that the Lord has touched so many hearts and came to my moments of distress. May God bless you more. We have raised more than 100k and some continue to send help.

I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer back in 2010. I have undergone mastectomy and was put on Tamoxifen for 5 years. Earlier in 2018 I started feeling knee and back pain. I consulted a rheumatologist and was put on medication. When my back pain worsened, we decided to have MRI and it is then that we were informed that a part of my spine collapsed due to osseous metastasis. I was advised to undergo a surgery to have implant to support my spine. After the surgery, I will be put under Zoledronic acid for one year to repair my collapsed T4 and L4 , and Anastrozole to contain the cancer cells in my body.

The implant costs Php 184,500.00 and the procedure would cost me about Php 120,000.00. While the total amount for my medication (Zoledronic Acid and Anastrozole) is about Php 230,000.00. Since I can not walk nor stand without a walker, I was forced to stop working. My husband is an ordinary employee in a private company. We have 2 kids who are both in Junior High School at public schools. Our current income is barely enough to support our daily needs and the schooling of our kids.

My operation is set on the second week of October 2018 and we still do not have even half of that money. The pain in my back is killing me and leaves me sleepless. I really want to be able to walk again and be a productive individual as I was before. I wanna see my kids grow up and finish their education.

Any amount will be deeply appreciated. I wanna be whole again. Please extend help. God bless us all.
