Ticket to World Youth Congress 2017

Dear friends, brothers and sisters,

My name is Chau Nguyen and I am from Vietnam. I am 27 years old and currently studying Social Work with Families and Children in Gothenburg University, Sweden.

Since 2015, I am awarded a scholarship to pursuit master degree in European countries in Portugal, Norway and Sweden. I'd love to become a social work, specialized in working with children and family. To me, family is very important, it can be your roots, your home sweet home, your spiritual source... Therefore, I am studying every day to learn more about family practice, children's rights, resilience, etc, so that I can support more families in Vietnam and in other places in the world.

I believe that no matter "who you are, where you from", people deserve to be loved and taken care. I just think that we are all human being and the world would be more peaceful if we think for each other litter more.

In the past, I spent lots of time working with marginalized group such as minority people and vulnarable children in Vietnam. I also working in the filed of peace building, youth movement in Mekong region and ASEAN. I am awared several scholarship to attend conferences in Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. I commited my self as a change agent

This year, 2017, I have been seclected as a participant for World Youth Congress 2017 in Hawaii, USA. The main theme of the Congress is about Sustainable Development with the contribution from young people's voices from all over the world.

I earnestly want to join this Congress. I want to raise concerns about children development in relation with social welfare and share my own experiences that I gain from Asia to Europe. Nowadays, children are facing so much pressure from the social world around them. How children can be empowered ? How they can express their voices ? What are the roles of parents, communities and world leaders ? Difference over geography and all the inequality in acessing education, opportunities and more ??? How we gonna adress this ? We all take part in nurturing a child since the very begining.

The program donot cover the airplane ticket and visa, unfortunately. Hence, I am posting this message with the hope of looking support from all of you. Please take little time to read this message and support me if possible ^^

I am also writing a book for young people with my own experiences, my own feelings and sharings. I want to deliver inspriational messages for young people : Dont loose hope ! Dont give up ! Keep going ! It's not tokenism. It is reality and you can make it with your heart and strong will.
