The primary mission of the Thunderbird Basketball program is to provide an environment of organized competitive basketball to those who may not typically receive the opportunity. Our areas of emphasis are team and community development, creating an awareness for the major connection between sports and education, life skills development, and overall character development and accountability. Through this we hope to contribute to our school's mission of
providing our students with the academic foundation and ambition to earn a college degree.
All players are required to maximize their time throughout their school day. This means to respond promptly to directions given from their teachers or adults in the school and completing all academic instructions assigned for that day. Failure to do this requires all players to make up this wasted time by receiving additional support and practice for meeting school expectations. This is done after school on practice or game days. Practicing school expectations is far more important and significant than practicing basketball. This funding will be used to help purchase team uniforms and equipment, team building activities, tournament entry fees, and primarily for the necessary bus transportation costs. A bus is needed to attend ALL scheduled games because 100% of our scheduled games aer away games due to our team lacking a facility to host games.
it takes a village to inspire greatness!
Together we can be determined to help them learn responsibility, respect and appreciation for others, and develop strong characteristics so that they can become not just good basketball players, but great men.
