Threads of Hope – What we do.
Threads of Hope is a non-profit business in Athens, Greece that equips and employs women exiting or avoiding trafficking, prostitution and exploitation.
Our mission is and always will be to restore hope and offering freedom to women trapped in exploitation through extortion, fear, desperation and lies.Creating beautiful and high quality sewn products makes Threads of Hope successful. Creating beautiful, healthy people is what makes it worth it.
Threads of Hope provides employment opportunities where women not only create beautiful, high quality products but also get the chance to become trainers, sellers, designers and supervisors.Threads of Hope has trained and employed women from all over Europe and Africa and partners with other like minded organizations in and around Athens.
Our training programs
Three times a year we run a 3-6 month training program. Each course can recieve a maximum of 6 women. Every person that completes the training program is moved to and employed in the Threads of Hope business.
The training program aims to empower women to build strong foundations for their new life in order to be able to make better life choices for themselves and their families. Our program follows the holistic approach. we believe we should care for the whole person and therefore work closely with a team of counsellors, social workers and mentors. Along side the sewing training we also provide literacy classes, budgeting classes, parenting classes, healthy eating and much more.
We are growing quicker than expected and we need you to partner with us to be able to do this well. Right now our premises have reached it's capacity and we now have a waiting list that is growing every week. with organisations all over Athens asking if we can accept new women into our training program. We are therefore looking at a larger premises and buying new equipment and this is where we need your help.

While living in Greece we saw the work done by this group. Offering a way to support themselves when coming out of trafficking can make all the difference. Blessings on you all.
