hi, we are a hard working family, we have worked from the day we left school at 16, and had multiple jobs from 18, to aid us to buy our first house.from 1994 to 2005, i stayed in full time employment , having a 8 till 6 job, then a 8 till 1 night job, wife has always worked, and looked after our 3 girls. i decided to go self employed in 2005, and opened a garage repair workshop, all was going really well until at 11;15am in September 2005, a car which was in the workshop caught fire from a static discharge from a faulty compressor, i tried in vain to put it out, but we lost the hole garage, and 27 customers cars, along with our own. ( sorry sounds like sob story) However we were fully insured by AXA, which was done though LLoyds bank, would appear wasn't even worth the value of the paper the policy was printed on, and got no help or assistance off anybody, we lost all the tooling, our own cars, and motorbikes, as well as trying to reimburse customers out off my own pocket for there loss, this leading us to sell our family home, and try and repay some people, as i thought it was the only right thing to do, from then, i got into building, and liked the idea off sustainable living, however, finding it impossible to get the money together to buy a plot off land, and make a start,( as well as day to day living costs, rent e.t.c) we are researching into shiping container homes, (which i know sounds crazy, but please google it)and the idea is to build one off these on a couple of acres, with a smallholding, and try and live a cheaper and more fulfilling life, and hopefully show other like minded people how to do it.tried the banks, all say no, can't get loans as current living costs, take all the wages, if you are thinking it's a good idea, please help, many thanks for your time, Dave & family
